Bob has a love of preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and church leadership. He received his doctorate from Chicago Theological Seminary, and his Masters of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary. Raised in Grand Rapids, he and his family moved to Ann Arbor in 1997 when he began serving The First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor. Bob and his wife, Laura, have three adult children and he enjoys family time, running, fishing, and anything active and outdoors.
Darcy has a passion for youth and small group ministry, worship design, and community building. She received her masters of divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and her Bachelor’s from Albion. She enjoys raising her twin boys, Jake and Britt, and playing soccer, hockey, and spending time with friends.
Rachel became a member of The First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor in 2016, together with her husband Mitchell. After high school, she attended Ferris State University for business and marketing. She currently substitute teaches for the Ann Arbor Public School system, primarily with special needs children. Her background in business and administration, coupled with her experience with children of all ages and needs, made her a perfect fit for this ministry position. In her free time, Rachel likes to kayak, knitting, and traveling.
Nancy has a bachelor of arts from the University of Michigan and has worked in bank management and various accounting positions. She manages the business of the church during the week and on Sunday mornings. Nancy enjoys spending time with family, Michigan winters, and music festivals.
Sandra joined the staff of FCC Ann Arbor as the administrative assistant in September 2018. A native of Ann Arbor, she has degrees in Linguistics and English and offers her experience in publications and administration to FCC and its members. Sandra delights in knitting, music, and everything about language.
Terry provides music leadership for our contemporary worship service and serves as a musician during our traditional worship throughout the year. He earned his bachelor’s of music in classical guitar performance from the University of Denver and runs a Suzuki guitar teaching studio.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Japanese-American conductor Shohei Kobayashi is a singer, songwriter, multi-genre bandmate, choral musician, and art song interpreter. In addition to joining FCC as our Chancel Choir Director, Shohei was selected as a conducting fellow for the 2018 Chorus America Conducting Academy, a member of Helmuth Rilling’s Fifth Weimar Bach Academy chorus, and the assistant to Jerry Blackstone for the Choral Conducting Institute at Interlochen.
Church Organist, Timothy Huth, grew up in Fostoria Ohio, beginning his musical career early on at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church and schools. He received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Meinrad College Seminary and holds master’s and doctorate degrees in Organ Performance from the University of Michigan. Timothy maintains an active recital schedule in our surrounding community. For the past four years Tim was Dean of the Ann Arbor Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He is also a certified massage therapist, specializing in stress reduction, performance enhancement and recovery from injury.
Betty has been the primary wedding coordinator since 2006 and enjoys workings with couples and their families in planning their special day at our church. She is also the Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Saline High School. She and her husband are long-time members of FCC.
