Following a residency program at Rush University Medical Center in chaplaincy, Darcy came to FCC Ann Arbor in 2008 as an Associate Minister. In 2020 she was called as our first female Senior Minister

After earning his Masters of Divinity from Harvard, Rev. Eric completed internships at King’s Chapel (Boston) and Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt (Germany). For 10+ years, he served congregations throughout New England and Germany as Senior Minister.

Marina Baker
Marina grew up in Ann Arbor and joined the FCC in 2002 with her parents and older sister. At the age of 11 Marina started volunteering in the nursery on Sunday mornings (2007).

Terry provides music leadership for our contemporary worship service and serves as a musician during our traditional worship throughout the year.

Ben Gaughran
Hailing from the United Kingdom, Benjamin began his musical studies as a pianist, spending several years as an accompanist for a variety of choirs and musical theatre companies as well as giving solo performances. Also, his work as a singer have comprised both classical and musical theatre contexts.

Dr. Timothy Huth
Church Organist, Timothy Huth, grew up in Fostoria Ohio, beginning his musical career early on at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church and schools.

Pianist
Dr. Joshua Marzan
Joshua Marzan is a pianist, opera coach, and chamber musician based in Ann Arbor. He is a staff pianist at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance, working with the Choral Conducting, Voice, Winds, Brass and Percussion departments.

Business Manager
Nancy SAuve
Nancy started working at FCC on January 11, 2000 as bookkeeper. While being the bookkeeper for 21 years, she has done a variety of jobs around the church as needed. You can generally find her on Sunday mornings greeting people in the Smith Welcome Center.

Administrative Assistant
Carolina Welch
Carolina was born in Colombia where she studied Business Administration and Psychology. She is bilingual in Spanish and English. She has worked with politicians and legal experts in Colombia as an administrative assistant to a senator.

Wedding Coordinator
Betty Jahnke
Betty has been the primary wedding coordinator since 2006 and enjoys workings with couples and their families in planning their special day at our church.

Rev. Darcy Crain
Darcy attended undergraduate at Albion College and her graduate education at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL earning a Masters of Divinity. Following a residency program at Rush University Medical Center in chaplaincy, Darcy came to FCC Ann Arbor in 2008 as an Associate Minister. In 2020 she was called as our first female Senior Minister and finished her Doctor of Ministry degree at Ecumenical Theological Seminary with a focus on belonging and belief in faith contexts. Darcy is engaged in making scripture accessible and relatable to all and in creating faith communities that foster belonging and support. Darcy enjoys spending time with her wife, her twin sons, and playing as much soccer as much as she can fit into her week.

Rev. Eric Hausman
After earning his Masters of Divinity from Harvard, Rev. Eric completed internships at King’s Chapel (Boston) and Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt (Germany). For 10+ years, he served congregations throughout New England and Germany as Senior Minister.
In 2019, Rev. Eric moved to Ann Arbor and shifted his focus to hospital chaplaincy. Upon completing a residency at St. Joe’s (Ann Arbor) and an additional 2,000 clinical hours at St. Vincent (Toledo), he became board certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains. He continues his clinical work as Mission and Spiritual Care Manager at Glacier Hills.
Rev. Eric is passionate about seeing faith development as a life-long quest, and has special interests in spiritual direction and small group ministry. He loves travel, the outdoors, and live music. He lives in Ypsilanti with his 2 children and their labrador puppy.

Rev. Lily Tinker FORTEL

Nancy Suave

Originally from Grand Rapids, graduated from the University of Michigan (1978), living just north of Ann Arbor since 1994, Nancy enjoys working near central campus again. She and her husband Mike have raised three kids, Rebecca (and Lee), Lisa (and Adam) and Dan. Each uniquely interesting and doing well. They have three grandkids, Amy (15), Teagan (7) and Devin (4) who are the joy of their lives. Rounding out the family includes Nugget and Banjo, the Golden Retrievers, who know no prejudice and have been the best teachers in seeing everyone as a friend.
In her spare time, Nancy enjoys reading, needlework, gardening, biking the Lakeland Trail, managing the Artist Hospitality for the Ann Arbor Art Fair, and best of all, folk/roots music festivals and catching concerts at The Ark.

Carolina Welch
Carolina was born in Colombia where she studied Business Administration and Psychology. She is bilingual in Spanish and English. She has worked with politicians and legal experts in Colombia as an administrative assistant to a senator. Carolina has also years of experience working with people and in different office positions in the U.S., She spent years abroad learning about different cultures. She hopes to use all of her experience to encourage and inspire others and be a good tool for FCC. She also enjoys meeting new people and spending her free time with family and friends.

Terry Farmer
Terry provides music leadership for our contemporary worship service and serves as a musician during our traditional worship throughout the year. He earned his bachelor’s of music in classical guitar performance from the University of Denver and runs a Suzuki guitar teaching studio.

Marina Baker
Marina grew up in Ann Arbor and joined the FCC in 2002 with her parents and older sister. At the age of 11 Marina started volunteering in the nursery on Sunday mornings (2007). When she turned 18 she became a teacher in the nursery/preschool rooms. After graduating from Skyline High School, Marina attended Albion College and later transferred to U of M. She graduated in 2019 with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. Since 2020 Marina has been working as a nanny for her niece who was born that year. She has also continued being a nursery/preschool teacher at the church and is on the BOCE at FCC.

Benjamin Gaughran
Hailing from the United Kingdom, Benjamin began his musical studies as a pianist, spending several years as an accompanist for a variety of choirs and musical theatre companies as well as giving solo performances. Also, his work as a singer have comprised both classical and musical theatre contexts.
Benjamin earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Royal Holloway, University of London where he began his career as a choral conductor. Mentored by Rupert Gough, he was the first student conductor of the Royal Holloway Founder’s Choir and also conducted The Royal Holloway Early Music Ensemble and Singers. In addition to these and other university conducting positions, Benjamin has conducted a variety of community choirs, public school choirs, musical theatre companies and other ensembles across the United Kingdom.
Benjamin has held several church music posts within a variety of denominations ranging from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Catholic tradition. He was Church Organist/Pianist, Director of Music and Choir Director in congregations across the United Kingdom for nearly 20 years before moving to the US. Previous to his current post, Benjamin served as the Minister of Music in The First Congregational Church of Chelsea.
As an active choral director, Benjamin currently conducts The University of Michigan’s prison outreach choir, Out of the Blue. He is also the Opera Chorus Master at the University as well as an associate conductor of The Orpheus Singers. In the community, Benjamin is the music director of the Women’s Chamber Chorus based in Ann Arbor. He is also often invited to guest conduct at choral camps and programs in the US. As a certified teacher, he regularly works as a clinician at local schools in Michigan.
Benjamin is a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music in Choral Conducting- a prestigious position held by a select number of people in the United Kingdom and abroad. He recently completed his master of music degree in choral conducting at The University of Michigan and has the distinct pleasure of pursuing his doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting with Dr. Eugene Rogers at The University of Michigan.
Benjamin’s approach in his work as a choral conductor has always been to ensure all people feel included regardless of their musical experience or background. He sets high standards and strives for excellence in all the ensembles he leads. Through his methods he inspires those he works with to realize and achieve their potential.
Outside of his love of music, Benjamin loves to spend time with his darling wife, Kerry, and their five children. They love to travel, eat good food, play games and generally enjoy life! He is absolutely thrilled to be the Chancel Choir Director at FCC Ann Arbor and looks forward to support the ministry and work of the church.

Timothy Huth
Church Organist, Timothy Huth, grew up in Fostoria Ohio, beginning his musical career early on at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church and schools. He received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Meinrad College Seminary and holds master’s and doctorate degrees in Organ Performance from the University of Michigan. Timothy maintains an active recital schedule in our surrounding community. For the past four years Tim was Dean of the Ann Arbor Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He is also a certified massage therapist, specializing in stress reduction, performance enhancement and recovery from injury.

Joshua Marzan
Joshua Marzan is a pianist, opera coach, and chamber musician based in Ann Arbor. He is a staff pianist at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance, working with the Choral Conducting, Voice, Winds, Brass and Percussion departments. He plays in countless rehearsals, lessons, studio classes, guest master classes, recordings, performances, degree recitals, and many more projects with students, faculty and staff members for the last eight years.
An active performer outside of the University of Michigan, he gives concerts and recitals with many local musicians, including members of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra and Detroit Symphony Orchestra. A frequent audition and competition pianist, he plays for the organizations such as the Southeast Michigan Flute Association, Detroit Youth Symphony Orchestra, William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition, George Shirley Competition, Verdi Opera Theatre, Michigan Opera Theatre, and the Metropolitan Opera Regional and District competitions.
Before coming to Michigan, he completed an MM and GD in collaborative piano at the New England Conservatory and a BM in piano performance at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has also attended Music Academy of the West and Tanglewood Music Center as a vocal piano fellow and served on faculty at the Castleton Festival. In 2017, he graduated with a DMA in collaborative piano from the University of Michigan, studying with Martin Katz.

Betty has been the primary wedding coordinator since 2006 and enjoys workings with couples and their families in planning their special day at our church. She is also the Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Saline High School. She and her husband are long-time members of FCC.
