Music Patron Program

Recently the Church Council approved the establishment of the Music Patron Program in an effort to help fund the continuance and quality of our special music programming during the seasons of Advent and Easter. We are now presenting you with an opportunity to contribute to this Music Patron Program, which will supplement the funds already set aside in our operating budget for special music . . . an amount, by the way, that covers about one-half the cost of this special seasonal music programming.

There are hundreds of large-scale sacred music works that exist, such as the Messiah by Handel, St. Matthew’s Passion and the Mass in B Minor by Bach; Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Brahms, and others that were written to the glory of God, poignant musical pieces that have uplifted and ministered to people for centuries.  Our choir and musicians have offered such uplifting works to our church and community over the past many decades.

However, because of our Church’s current financial environment, and without supplemental funding to complement our current music budget, these kinds of presentations will need to greatly diminish in size, scope, and frequency in the future.

Therefore, we sincerely hope you will consider supporting the Music Patron Program with a special donation this year so we can continue to bring this kind of great music to FCC.

Those who support the Music Patron Program will have their names listed as a Music Patron in the printed bulletins for both the Advent and Easter special music events, and at both the traditional and the contemporary services (for a total of four special music performances during the next year).  We also invite patrons to offer their support in memory of, or in honor of, someone special, whose names will be listed in the printed bulletins as well, according to one’s wishes.

Thank you for your consideration.  Our Church has a wonderful legacy of exceptional and inspiring music, which is, and has been, a gift to us all.
