Nursery (Newborn-2 years): Care is available for children with screened and consistent childcare workers. If you’d like to keep your infant or child with you in worship, you are more than welcome to do so. Please feel free to move about during the service as is needed.
Preschool (3-5 years): They will start by playing, building, exploring, and creating in the playroom. Then, they will move across the hall into the preschool classroom for a lesson from our Shine curriculum. They will learn about God, His character, and His faithfulness. They will learn prayers and bible verses as they have a snack and then they will return to the playroom until it is time to be picked up.
Kindergarten-5th Grade: Children will start worship with their parents in the sanctuary. They will be invited to come to the front for a short children’s sermon and then they will leave for Church School with volunteers and staff. They will have opportunities to worship God and learn more about Him. There will be time for music, prayer, stories, discussion, and activities. The children can be picked up downstairs when the service is over.
Junior High (6th-8th Grade): Children will be invited to join us in Church School each Sunday morning. They will start in the sanctuary with their parents, will be asked to join in a short children’s sermon, and then will go downstairs to meet as a group. Junior High students will deepen their faith through scripture and stories, questions and discussion, and games and activities. Our youth group gathers to have fun and to serve others; check out the upcoming events below!
High School (9th- 12th Grade): High schoolers are beyond busy with school, sports, clubs, friends, and more. At FCC we want faith to be integrated into young people’s everyday lives, rather than just another to-do on their calendars. We provide a retreat-based curriculum that immerses youth in community and spirituality and allows them to take that experience back into their everyday life. We offer Fall and Spring retreats led by Rev. Darcy Crain and the dedicated team of youth leaders. High school discussions take place twice per month during the 10 a.m. worship service (exceptions for public school breaks). Check the FCC Calendar to confirm discussion dates.
We encourage youth to experience life outside their zip codes and serve others through our summer mission trips. These week-long immersion experiences allow high school students the opportunity to see what life is like for someone living in rural Appalachia, downtown Detroit, Alajuelita, Costa Rica, and other places. This year our youth traveled to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Students leave the experience transformed, both emotionally and spiritually… as well as the bonus of being able to hammer a nail and use a drill.
