FCC Kidz

Join us at The First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor, where we recognize that our kids are our future!

Altogether we are learning about God’s creation, God’s Love, and God’s peace upon us. Using lessons based on the stories from the Bible we are exploring the wonders of our world.

Note that in order to keep all of our students safe we ask everyone who comes to the FCC Kidz Zone to wear a mask. This includes all adults.

We would appreciate parents filling out a for the 2021-2022 FCC Kidz program. https://www.fccannarbor.org/church-school-registration/

FCC Kidz Zone: FCC Kidz Zone is located on the lower level of the building. If you are new to the building please ask anyone for directions, there will also be signs up.

FCC Kidz: On Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. we will meet in the large classroom located off the lower lobby. Teachers will be available at 9:45 a.m. for student check-in. The class will run to the end of the Service in the Sanctuary. Parents, please come down to the classroom for student pick-up.

FCC Childcare: On Sunday childcare for very young students is provided in our Nursery room.

Our Curriculum: The curriculum we use is called Shine.

Additional up-to-date information is available on the FCC Church School social media pages.

  • For additional information regarding programming for nursery through 8th grade, contact us at FCCKidz@fccannarbor.org.
  • For additional information regarding programming for high school, contact Rev. Darcy Crain at darcy@fccannarbor.org.

Care is available for children with screened and consistent childcare workers. If you’d like to keep your infant or child with you in worship, you are more than welcome to do so. Please feel free to move about during the service as is needed.

They will start by playing, building, exploring, and creating in the playroom. Then, they will move across the hall into the preschool classroom for a lesson from our Shine curriculum.  They will learn about God, His character, and His faithfulness.  They will learn prayers and bible verses and then they will return to the playroom until it is time to be picked up.

The FCC Kidz class will start at 10 am in the lower level (FCC Kidz Zone). Here, students will have opportunities to worship God and learn more about the scriptures and stories of our faith. There will be time for music, prayer, stories, discussion, and activities.  The children can be picked up downstairs when the service is over.

Children will be invited to join us in Church School each Sunday morning.  Junior High students will deepen their faith through scripture and stories, questions and discussion, and games and activities.  Our youth group gathers to have fun and to serve others; check out the upcoming events below!

High schoolers are beyond busy with school, sports, clubs, friends, and more.  At FCC we want faith to be integrated into young people’s everyday lives, rather than just another to-do on their calendars.  We provide a retreat-based curriculum that immerses youth in community and spirituality and allows them to take that experience back into their everyday life.  We offer Fall and Spring retreats led by Rev. Darcy Crain and the dedicated team of youth leaders.  High school discussions take place twice per month during the 10 a.m. worship service (exceptions for public school breaks).  Check the FCC Calendar to confirm discussion dates.

We encourage youth to experience life outside their zip codes and serve others through our summer mission trips.  These week-long immersion experiences allow high school students the opportunity to see what life is like for someone living in rural Appalachia, downtown Detroit, Alajuelita, Costa Rica, and other places.  Students leave the experience transformed, both emotionally and spiritually… as well as the bonus of being able to hammer a nail and use a drill.
