Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Text:  “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own.  Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Scripture Reading:  Matthew 5:25-34

Reflection:

I was talking with one of our church members this week about their experience of the “stay at home” order of Governor Whitmer. She said it all seemed so “surreal.”  Another person I spoke with mentioned how every day right now seems just like the last…and likely like the next. Yes, we all know this time we are living in right now is both predictable and unpredictable, isn’t it?  Well, the good news from Matthew today is this: God is in each day and every day….so take one day at a time…knowing YOU are important to God and that God is with you…Therefore live today with trust and hope.

Prayer:

Loving God of each and every day, help me to take one day at a time, knowing your love is with me and your wisdom and presence with hold and guide me.  I ask for your blessing today, as I also seek to be a blessing to others. Amen.

Focus for the Day:

I am important to God, who is with me today and always…no matter what.
