Becoming a Member of The First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor

Member Status

Active:  Those who are active members of the church, having officially joined FCC.
Affiliated:  Those who have maintained their membership in their home church, but have temporarily affiliated themselves with FCC.
Associated:  Those who have not officially joined FCC, but who attend regularly and/or participate in other ways.
Inactive:  Those who are no longer active members, but for specific reasons are retained in the church system.

How You May Join

Confirmation:  Those who join FCC through confirmation of their faith.
Affirmation:  Those who make the decision to join FCC as an adult, attending the orientation classes and officially joining.
Transfer:  Those who transfer their church membership from another church to FCC.

Membership orientation meetings for those considering joining the church are usually held in the spring and in the fall. Services to welcome new members are held in the spring and fall after orientation.
